A new component has been founded on the Fornax Platform. It is a code formatter component for XML
that can be included in an oAW workflow. The current implementation of oAW's XML formatter has a number of issues, since it is based only on JAXP. This leads to several problems, e.g. that DOCTYPE declarations are dropped during parsing of the XML document. The Fornax component makes use of the DOM4J library
and uses its formatting options to format XML code.
The Fornax XML formatter component is the first component of the new Utilities category. It is expected that in the near future more small oAW utilities will be developed within this category.
The fornax-platform.org server had a hardware failure yesterday. Some services including the Fornax Maven Repository, the fornax-platform.org Website, and the JIRA issue tracking system were offline for about a day. Thanks to the work of itemis colleague Johannes Tysiak we were able to recover everything and have the systems now online again.
We apologize for the inconvinience.
